14 Apr Outdoor Yoga is Coming: Breathe, Move & Connect with Nature at Summit Sol Wellness
We know it’s only April and there’s still more snow coming…but the fun part about being an early planner is that we’re already planning for summer yoga and wellness events here at Summit Sol! That means we’re daydreaming of outdoor yoga, yoga at the Dillon Amphitheater, hike and deep stretch, trail days with Friends of Dillon Ranger District, and new events to connect yoga, wellness, and nature!
There’s something truly magical about stepping onto your mat with the sky overhead, the mountains in the distance, and the sun warming your skin. At Summit Sol Yoga + Wellness, we believe that yoga is more than just physical practice: it’s a way to connect with your inner truth, your community, and the natural world around you. And there’s no better way to do that than with outdoor yoga!
We’re counting down the days until we can return to our favorite spot: The “Lawn at Lake Dillon” officially known as Point Dillon Park, where our most popular outdoor classes happen every single day at 9:00 AM. Just steps from the shores of Lake Dillon. With the Ten Mile Range as your Drishti and crisp mountain air in your lungs, you’ll experience yoga in a whole new way.
Why Outdoor Yoga is So Special
Practicing yoga outside brings a different kind of energy. It’s invigorating and calming at the same time. There’s also a powerful grounding effect when you practice with your mat on the grass. Connecting directly with the earth helps calm your nervous system, restore balance, and increase presence. As one yogi shared, “The best is the yoga by the lake. If you can get to yoga at the lake by Summit Sol you are winning! The views, the teachers, the sun and the other students make the setting PERFECT!” – Craig, a Summit Sol member.
Community Vibes & Mountain Magic
Our outdoor yoga classes have become a local favorite and a community tradition. Whether you’re a full-time resident or just visiting Summit County, you’ll feel the welcoming energy from the moment you arrive. These classes are where friends reconnect, new faces are welcomed, and mountain-loving yogis share space together under the sky.
What makes these mornings even more magical? The view. As you settle into mountain pose, you’ll find yourself gazing out at Buffalo Mountain, Peak 1, and the shimmering waters of Lake Dillon. It’s hard not to feel inspired when you’re surrounded by such natural beauty.
Every teacher brings their own style and energy to the practice, but the overall vibe is peaceful yet energizing, perfect for setting the tone for your day.
All Levels Welcome—Yes, ALL!
Never done yoga before? No worries. Our outdoor classes are beginner-friendly and welcoming to all levels. Whether you’re just starting your practice or have been flowing for years, you’ll find space to explore, grow, and enjoy the movement at your own pace.
What to Bring & Know Before You Go
To make the most of your outdoor yoga experience, here are a few tips:
- Bring your own mat if you have one. However, we also have mats available outside in case you need one! They are first come, first serve, so arrive early if you need a mat. If you have a group, email us ahead of time to ensure we have enough.
- Hot tip: Bring a blanket or towel to place under your mat to keep it clean and comfortable on the grass.
- Prefer the shade? There’s a beautiful tree that provides cool relief on warmer days.
- Don’t forget layers, sunscreen, and water—mountain mornings can change quickly!
- More about Outdoor Yoga can be found on our website!

Why We Can’t Wait
At Summit Sol, we shine bright on core values that include a welcoming community for all and channeling the mountain magic. Outdoor yoga blends these values together in the most beautiful way. From the moment you arrive at the lake to the final notes of shavasana, you’re reminded of what it means to slow down, be present, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you.
Starting your day outside with mindful movement is one of the best ways to embrace the season and nourish your body and spirit.
