Perfect Fall Weekend in Summit County

Fall in Summit County may be fleeting, but it is also one of the most magical times of year. The air feels crisp, the trees start to turn gold, and the pace of life slows just enough to let you soak it all in. At Summit Sol Wellness, we see autumn as a season of transition, a reminder that just like nature, we are meant to shift, release, and reset.

Whether you’re visiting town for a weekend or a local looking to savor the season, here are some ideas for creating your perfect fall wellness weekend in Summit. Think of it as a “choose your own adventure” guide, with plenty of ways to connect, recharge, and enjoy the beauty around you.

Turn Up the Heat in Yoga

As the weather cools down, fall is the perfect time to turn inward and bring a little extra fire into your yoga practice. Our Flow classes will warm you up, build strength, and leave you feeling energized for your outdoor adventures. If you prefer a slower pace, try Align and Flow to work on posture and balance while still getting movement and heat.

Or, if your summer was jam-packed with hiking, biking, and long days outside, you might be craving more rest. Our Yin classes offer deep stretching and stillness to help you recover and transition gently into the new season.

Practice Letting Go with Breathwork

Change can feel overwhelming, especially as we adjust to new routines in fall. One of the easiest ways to ground yourself during times of transition is through breath. Try out Dirga Pranayama, or three-part breath:

Inhale deeply through your nose until your lungs are full.

Pause for just a moment at the top.

Let it all go with a big sigh of relief.

Repeat this 5–10 times and notice how it helps you land in your body and release what no longer serves you. Just like the trees drop their leaves, we too can let go and make space for something new.

Choose Your Outdoor Adventure

Fall in Summit County is short but oh-so-sweet. The colors pop for just a few weeks, so get outside and make the most of it while you can. Depending on your style of adventure, here are some ways to enjoy the season:

Hiking: Head up to Lily Pad Lake, a trail surrounded by stunning aspen groves and peaceful water views.

Water: Paddleboard or kayak on Lake Dillon and take in the golden leaves reflected on the surface.

Biking: Ride Aspen Alley in Breckenridge, one of the most famous trails for leaf-peeping on two wheels.

Whatever you choose, be present. Pause to really notice the crunch of leaves underfoot, the coolness of the air, and the brilliance of the changing trees.

Embrace the Transition

One of the best lessons fall has to offer is that change is natural. The aspens don’t cling to their leaves; they let go gracefully. As you move through your wellness weekend, consider how you might follow nature’s lead. What can you release? What new rhythm might you welcome in?

Yoga and mindfulness give us tools to navigate these seasonal shifts with a little more ease. Whether it’s heating up your practice, slowing down with yin, or simply breathing with intention, you have everything you need to flow with the season.
